Who Invented Roulette

Without turning this into a full history lesson, we’ve done a bit of digging into the origins of roulette – a story that dates back centuries.

One of the most widely accepted theories is that French mathematician Blaise Pascal invented the roulette wheel as part of his exploration into mathematical formulas, though signs of roulette can be traced back even further.

One legend states that Roman soldiers grew tired of war on the battlefield and therefore invented a number of other games with which to bet money – one involving a spinning wheel which is more or less identical to roulette.

The other theory dates back to ancient Greece, where soldiers selected random symbols within a shield and would bet on where an arrow would land – does that sound familiar?
